2025 TACKLE FOOTBALL INFORMATION
The Huntington Beach Chargers youth tackle football program is an exceptional tackle football league designed for athletes aged 7 to 14. Our primary focus is on athlete development, guided by experienced coaching that fosters an atmosphere of teamwork, commitment, and a passion for the game. Regardless of whether you’re an experienced player or new to the sport, participants will acquire essential skills and experiences that extend beyond the field and positively impact various aspects of life.
Our organization has a proven track record of winning numerous championships and producing NFL athletes, Heisman candidates, and D1 college athletes.
Registration for the 2025 season opens on 2/22/25 and closes on 5/31/25. Participants will be placed on teams based on age as of 7/31/25.

FOOTBALL REGISTRATION FEE: $550
REGISTRATION INCLUDES
- Uniform (2 game jerseys, 1 pair of pants)
- Individual and team photos
- Practice jersey
- Helmet (players may use their own, must have current certification)
- Pads (players may use their own)
Families are encouraged to pay the full registration fee upfront, but a payment plan option is available ($150 due upon registration, balance due by 8/15/25). Our organization will not send invoices to families who have selected the payment plan option; it is the family’s responsibility to keep track of their payment obligations and deadlines.
Registration fees go toward facility use, uniforms, helmets, pads, AAU membership fees, scholarships for players who need financial aid, practice and game equipment/supplies, medics, and referees.
Families will be asked to participate in Chapter/league fundraising efforts to help supplement the costs of the aforementioned expenses. Additionally, teams will coordinate fundraising efforts to help cover costs such as the end-of-season banquet, water bottles, banners, film studies, coach’s gifts, etc.
Registration Process
- Complete application and payment
- Download and print registration documents
- Upload copies of required registration documents starting April 1st (you will receive an email reminder when the document upload portal is open)
- Turn in original hard copies of required registration documents to Chapter or team AD starting April 15th.

Note: Individuals who attempt to get their money back through a canceled bank or credit card transaction will be pursued for repayment, plus additional fees and possible legal action if necessary.

FOOTBALL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When does the season take place?
Optional conditioning opportunities will start in June, practices will begin mid-July, regular season games begin in early September, and the season concludes with Superbowl Championship games in early December.
Do I have to live in Huntington Beach to play for the Chargers?
No. We are a Huntington Beach based program, but residency is not required.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes, $150 is due upon registration, balance is due by 8/15/25.
Are teams based on age?
Yes, players will be placed in the divisions based on their age as of 7/31/25. Our program is designed for athletes between the ages of 7 and 14.
Are there weight restrictions?
No. The AAU-SCEYFL is an unlimited youth tackle football organization; there are no weight restrictions for any of the divisions in our league.
What equipment do you receive and have to purchase?
Players will be provided with a helmet and pads but may use their own, if desired. Players are responsible for providing their own mouth guard (with a tether or lip guard), girdle, knee pads, chin strap, cleats, and athletic cup.
Where and when are practices?
Practices are held at Edison High School (link to map) 3-4 days a week. They are 2 to 2 ½ hours long between 5:30-8:30 PM.
When and where do games take place?
Games are held on Saturdays; home games are played at Edison High School. Away game locations will be in LA/OC/IE areas. Typically, each team has four home games in a season.
